Newnham College, University of Cambridge

Newnham College was founded in 1871 to promote academic excellence for women, and this is still our goal. With some 620 students and academic staff, Newnham is a thriving intellectual community in its own right and a superb springboard for all that Cambridge University has to offer.

Victorian architect Basil Champneys' vision of a college for women still inspires (our dining hall is among the most beautiful in Cambridge). The College is a stone's throw from most University Humanities departments and a short walk from Science departments and the City Centre.
